Independent Cook/Chef

Introduction

LUMICKS is looking for an Independent Cook/Chef for our office in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost.

You will get a unique opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a happy and well-fed team during a temporary assignment. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the lunch preparations for our office while our current chef is on long term leave.

You will work independently and closely with our team, ensuring that everyone enjoys fresh, balanced, and delicious meals tailored to various dietary needs. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining the tradition of fantastic lunches that foster our team’s well-being and satisfaction.

Role is in office 4 days / 32 hours a week.

What are my tasks and responsibilities?

Prepare Lunch for 75-80 People:
- Plan and cook delicious, fresh, and balanced meals for a group of approximately 75-80 people.
- Include options for dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, nut-free) or prepare entirely vegan meals as required.
Grocery Management:
- Order groceries and supplies needed for meal preparation.
- Ensure pantry and storage areas are stocked with essential items.
Maintain Kitchen Hygiene:
- Keep the kitchen and equipment clean and well-organized.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Collaboration and Feedback:
- Communicate with the team to accommodate preferences and dietary needs.
- Take feedback on meals and improve offerings accordingly.

What about my skills & competencies?

Experience in preparing meals for large groups.
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and vegan cooking.
Organized, efficient, and independent in managing kitchen operations.
Friendly, approachable, and able to maintain a positive environment.
Certified in food safety and hygiene (preferred but not mandatory).
