Working Student – Finance

Introduction

LUMICKS is looking for a talented student as a Working Student – Finance. As a working student, you get the unique opportunity to be closely involved in the decision-making process of a rapidly growing international business. The working student works closely together with the finance team and manages and supports all aspects of finance, including financial accounting, financial analysis, financial operations, tax, and strategy.

As a working student, you will be an important player in the European team to take ownership over several processes and report directly to the Controller. You will be working with different departments of LUMICKS and liaise between our Amsterdam and US offices. To be successful in your role, you need to be technically strong, highly motivated, and result-driven, but also show outstanding attention to detail. You are innovative and can communicate complex accounting topics to all levels within the company.

Responsibilities

Manage and support the bookkeeping of our Dutch and U.S. offices
Managing several software packages.
Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and annual financial statements.
Assist with other reporting obligations and prepare tax filings.
Perform data analysis and prepare KPI reports.
Understand the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies, and procedures.
Exchange non-routine information to the company, requiring good oral and written communication skills.

Requirements:

A solid understanding of financial reporting and financial processes.
Assertive, team player, and an international mindset.
Ability to work independently and accurately under strict deadlines.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Fluency in both English and preferably Dutch.
A flexible and energetic person with a hands-on mentality.
Enthusiasm and a professional attitude are also key to this position.
Good general knowledge of MS Office is essential, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Available for at least one year for 16-24 hours per week with flexibility from both sides.
