Sourcing Director

Full-time position

Introduction

The sourcing director defines and executes the sourcing strategy that supports the R&D roadmap and business continuity for manufacturing and service. Key elements are technology, quality and risk mitigation. Cost is approached integrally of product life cycle. You manage outsourced manufacturing  in structured way that focused on continuous improvement in quality, process and deliver on cost savings. You oversee New Product Introduction at manufacturing partner and have the means in place to ramp up production in line with business needs.

You will manage a team of initially 2 direct reports that will growth with the business.

You have experience working in or closely with R&D in technology organization. You understand R&D projects and how to manage outsourced developments with regards to relationship, deliverables, technology risk and cost. You have experience in defining value engineering roadmaps, executing it and stakeholder management to keep teams aligned and connected moving forward to the goal.

You can translate business strategy into sourcing strategy in which you manage risk, improve product and process quality and deliver on integral cost down (cost of ownership, including service).

You manage strategic sourcing with high engagement of your team members and key stakeholders in R&D and Operations.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • Supplier strategy that addresses Supply risk, Quality & Cost improvement including plan to execute with aligned resources from R&D
  • Supplier (technology)roadmap that support business roadmap
  • Lead the NPI process including transfer to manufacturing partner
  • Manage Manufacturing partner(s) at strategic level with long term view
  • Manage strategic and bottleneck suppliers to ensure product ramp-up and volume growth
  • Supply contract negotiations for strategic and bottleneck suppliers
  • CoGS down roadmap + forecast
  • Annual supplier negotiations

What about my skills & competencies?

  • You have an Academic degree in technology
  • You manage stakeholder inside and outside LUMICKS
  • Deliver on results
  • Good people skills that engages direct reports and peers
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Minimal 10 year’s experience of which at least 5 years in sourcing
  • Background in high tech industry preferred
