Software QA Engineer

Full-time position


LUMICKS is looking for a passionate Software QA Engineer. Working as part of our C-Trap, Dynamic Single Molecule software team you’ll be responsible for expanding and improving our automated and manual testing infrastructure. You’ll work closely with scientists and other disciplines to make sure that our software, used in labs across the world, is both stable and gives reproducible data. As one of our first dedicated software QA engineers you’ll be able to set the standard for software QA at LUMICKS, and develop a roadmap of work to set us on the right path.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • Designing, implementing and executing a range of tests for the software, both manually and by writing automated tests
  • Working alongside our software engineers to test and validate software improvements and fixes
  • Working closely with both our hardware engineering and immunology specialists to plan and execute relevant tests
  • Developing and improving the testing sections of our release process

What about my skills & competencies?

  • You graduated with a BSc or MSc degree in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline or can show equivalent professional experience
  • You can show experience in specifying, creating and running both functional and performance-oriented software tests
  • You have used tools for automated testing of UI applications
  • You enjoy working in a small and agile team and are passionate about technology
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • Experience testing software which is an integral part of a larger hardware-based product
  • Experience with tools to test QML-based UI applications, such as Squish or Spix
  • Experience with any of the languages / tools from our tech stack: C++17, Python 3, Qt 5 (QML), catch2
