Senior Tax Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst for our office in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to play a key senior role in the finance team of a rapid growing international business. You will work closely with all the different Finance teams and own all tax responsibilities. You will be technically strong in all areas of tax, have the ability to improve processes and lead change. Your key responsible will be to ensure the tax compliance of all LUMICKS entities and delivery of all internal and external reporting deadlines. This position will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

Tax Strategic Planning

  • Hold responsibility for the EMEA tax landscape of the Lumicks, including but not limited to corporate income tax, transaction tax and VAT
  • Identify, analyse and implement new tax requirements triggered by any business or legislative development in the end-to-end tax compliance process (this includes tax data landscape, systems and processes). Assess tax risk and opportunities for Lumicks and take the required action to implement these.
  • Advise and support on international restructuring and planning. Play a key role in overall rationalization of group transactions and related transfer pricing requirements, including local file preparation.
  • Identify and implement improvements in the end-to-end tax compliance process, where possible by making use of tax technology. Actively drive continuous improvement in the field of tax reporting, data and transactions
  • Create and implement our Global Tax Control Framework


Business Partnering

  • Provide EMEA input into Global strategic initiatives around Business Process, Technology Transformation and Compliance Management.
  • Be a strategic partner to the Shared Service Operations and support in the resolution of open items, audits and day to day VAT compliance queries.
  • Development and deployment of VAT training and awareness materials including liaison with key stakeholders on new processes, requirements and policy.
  • participate in other, ad-hoc projects and activities
  • Be an advisor to the business by providing practical and technical tax, including custom, support to the global business. Coordinating efforts between various stakeholders


Run Tax activities and operations

  • Be the first point of contact for all tax queries. Own the relationship with external tax bureau and advisor. Manage relationship with the tax authorities.
  • Be responsible for preparation and/or supervision of all direct and indirect tax returns,
  • Assist with the preparation of tax calculations and reporting requirements for financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, including current and deferred tax
  • Support the month end close process with Preparing tax consolidation, calculating tax provision preparing tax journals and consolidation entries, as well as tax cash forecasting
  • Maintain the schedule of filed tax returns and ongoing obligations

What are my skills & competencies?

  • University degree in Dutch Fiscal Law or Fiscal Economics
  • 7-10 years of relevant working experience, preferably combined experience of Big 4 and in-house tax experience
  • Background in CIT and International tax practice experience is essential. Experience with VAT and Custom or willingness to learn
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast past environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities – get the job done mentality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail, whilst seeing the bigger picture
  • Team player with strong communication skills and ability to team with cross-functional teams in legal, tax, accounting, content, etc.
  • Project management experience and demonstrated ability to drive process improvements
