LUMICKS is the leading supplier of high-tech Biotechnology analysis instruments. Our instruments allow researchers to build the crucial and yet unfinished bridge between structure and function at both a molecular and a cellular level. As part of our new Global IT team, we are looking for a Salesforce Developer to be based at our head office in Amsterdam. We are a young, tech-savvy team, and value giving our staff significant freedom and ownership. You will provide hands-on assistance to our sales, marketing, service teams and the wider organisation, helping them to stay productive with our CRM solutions while keeping our data safe.

We are looking for a highly capable Salesforce Developer to ensure that LUMICKS capitalizes on the value provided by the CRM system. In this role, your duties will include developing customized solutions within the Salesforce platform. You will also analyse project objectives, create customer workflows, and troubleshoot errors. To ensure success as a Salesforce developer, you should have extensive experience working with Salesforce CRM platforms, application development skills, and the ability to solve complex software problems leveraging both standard/no-code functionalities and APEX based solutions.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • Work with end users, business owners and the Salesforce Team to determine CRM needs.
  • Participate in the planning/analysis of business requirements for system changes and enhancements.
  • Collaborate inter-departmentally to identify business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Salesforce customizations, applications, extensions and integrations.
  • Develop intuitive UI using Visualforce, JavaScript and JQuery technologies.
  • Application development, including Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, Lightning Web Components,
  • Create testing and implementation plans, including user training and documentation.
  • Testing the stability and functionality of the application.
  • Ensuring the test class coverage, monitoring and improving the coverage level to ensure the code base is always up-to-date and ready for production
  • Assist with each release cycle to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code.
  • Support the release activities to Production, including unit testing, no-regression and dry-run
  • Maintaining the security and integrity of the application software.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing bugs.
  • Help reduce the platform TCO by increasing business automation.
  • Contributing to technical documentation.
  • Remain current with Salesforce technologies and best practices.
  • Striving towards coding best practices and data quality.

What about my skills & competencies?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering.
  • +5 years of working  experience with software development
  • Proficient in MYSQL, Java, JavaScript, Native
  • Experience with Apex, Visualforce and the Lightning Component Framework.
  • Working knowledge of mavensMate or eclipse, SourceTree, Bitbucket, Jenkins and CI/CD.
  • Experience with software development outside of the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Experience developing APIs and customer-facing interfaces.
  • Experience working on an Agile development team.
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce CRM platforms, of the Salesforce products and their functionalities.
  • Salesforce Certified Developer I and/or Salesforce Certified Developer II
  • Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ and Marketing Cloud or Pardot. Salesforce Consultant certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to think critically, to troubleshoot hardware, networking, and application issues.
  • Keep up to date with information technology & have a security first focus.
  • Solution focused with strong Influencing and motivating to drive user adoption and ensure we are working on the most valuable improvements
