As part of our new Global IT team, we are looking for a Salesforce Application Manager to be based at our head office in Amsterdam. We are a young, tech-savvy team, and value giving our staff significant freedom and ownership. You will provide hands-on assistance to our sales, marketing, service teams and the wider organization, helping them to stay productive with our CRM solutions while keeping our data safe.

We are looking for a highly capable Salesforce Application Manager to ensure that LUMICKS capitalizes on the value provided by the CRM system. In this role, your duties will include creating user accounts, maintaining our sales databases, and training staff on the effective use of Salesforce products. To ensure success in this role, you must possess extensive knowledge of both the business domain, CRM system administration and the ability to work in a varied and fast-paced environment. As the Application Manager you are the first point of contact, you will work closely with internal business users. You provide value to the business by automating complex business processes, makes sure the system is clean and efficient and monitor new releases. You will become an expert within LUMICKS and have an in-depth understanding of customization and use your expertise to translates into optimized sales processes.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • Creating, supporting, activating and de-activating Salesforce users by managing profiles, permission sets, role hierarchy, groups, and managing access, audit trail
  • Managing data visibility and record access via organisation wide system defaults and sharing settings
  • Supporting the business by performing operational mass insert and updates for the sales data (leads, contacts, opportunities, and other data)
  • Performing database maintenance tasks, including diagnostic tests and duplicate entry cleansing
  • Being actively involved in the Sprint ceremonies (Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective and Demo sessions on the platform functionalities)
  • Configuring and managing platform configurable rules such as workflows and flows
  • Supporting basic platform customisations (fields, page layouts, validation rules, etc.)
  • Test Script preparation for in Sprint functionalities and no-regression
  • Test Script execution, Test Report creation and update for progress monitoring, logging feedback and bugs as new enhancements or new JIRA tickets
  • Evaluating the features available with every Salesforce release, identifying any required action to be performed in the platform as result of newly introduced or retired functionalities
  • Owning the release activities to Production, including unit testing, no-regression and dry-run
  • Monitoring the user channel for support requests, providing guidance to the users on how to work with the platform functionalities
  • Collecting requirements for new processes with stakeholders
  • Owning the triage of user requests and creating tickets on JIRA in case of development needed
  • Coordinating & escalating unresolved issues to the appropriate teams, and partners as required
  • Continuously improving the service provided, including automation, to reduce total cost of ownership and making recommendations to management
  • Documenting processes, including error reports and changes to field history tables
  • Support the team with rolling out new projects and applications
  • Aid and cover for other team members, business projects and complete other tasks as assigned from time to time
  • Facilitating business intelligence analysis by helping the users with leveraging standard Sales Cloud and CPQ (Configure Price Quote) reports and dashboards, as well as building custom reports and dashboards

What about my skills & competencies?

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science would be advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator in a similar environment.
  • You enjoy working in a very varied, fast-paced, and high-tech company & helping people.
  • With prefer hands-on and have can-do attitude you are eager to learn, flexible and passionate about technology
  • Exceptional communication skills as you will work with people at all levels within the company
  • Salesforce certified administrator or Salesforce advanced administrator certification
  • Extensive experience in the administration and maintenance of Salesforce systems
  • Experience in performing Salesforce upgrades and ensuring successful integration
  • Exceptional ability to create and maintain Salesforce databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce products and their functionalities.
  • Knowledge of importing sales data and generating Salesforce reports.
  • Ability to provide Salesforce training and end-user support
  • Patience, with the ability to listen to and understand customer problems, needs and issues.
  • Confidence to push back on requests which are not in the best interests of the platform.
  • You have strong governance and best practice are key considerations in this role.
  • Solution focused with strong Influencing and motivating to drive user adoption and ensure we are working on the most valuable improvements
  • You are driven to maintain and provide an effective customer-focused global IT support service.
  • You work well both independently, and as part of a team. You are self-organizing, adaptable, resilient, patient, a good listener with strong time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to think critically, to troubleshoot hardware, networking, and application issues.
  • Strong people skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Keep up to date with information technology & have a security first focus.
  • Knowledge of automation/scripting languages such as PowerShell is desirable
