Sales/Application Scientist

Full Time / Location: Boston, USA

Introduction

As a Sales/Application Scientist, you are part of LUMICKS’ Business Development team and develop long-term business potential by exploring new areas of application for LUMICKS’ instruments for single-molecule research.

You are responsible for developing business opportunities by interacting with potential customers in meetings and (conference) presentations. You connect easily to PhD and PI level researchers in different areas of fundamental biology through a clear understanding of their technical and application needs. You use your hands-on technical skills to perform test experiments requested by potential customers. All-in-all you act as the trusted advisor to potential customers throughout the evaluation process.

This position is based in the heart of Cambridge, MA at Central Square.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

▪ Developing new customer relationships and maintaining existing accounts in academia and industry.

▪ Driving sales and pipeline growth in assigned territory and expanding brand awareness.

▪ Working with business development and marketing to plan and execute strategic sales projects.

▪ Representing the company at workshops and conferences.

▪ Provide feedback from the field to sales management about market dynamics and product performance.

▪ Ability to understand our customers’ needs and how LUMICKS’ instruments can have positive impact.

▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and professional demeanor.

▪ Motivated, self driven, goal oriented, energetic work ethic and an outstanding team-player.

▪ Strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask.

▪ Ability and interest to travel extensively; travel requirement 50%.

▪ Sales experience is preferred but not required.

▪ MSc or PhD, in Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Physics or related sciences
