National Business Development Manager, Single Molecule Technologies

Full-Time position

Introduction

You will assume overall responsibility for the US Business Development team and develop long-term business potential by exploring new areas of application for LUMICKS’ instruments for single-molecule research. Reporting directly to the Business Director and working in collaboration with our National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing and developing your business development and application scientists’ team, to further advance LUMICKS’ technologies, build key customer collaborations, and maintain high level of customer satisfaction.

LUMICKS Application Scientist
  • Identify important markets to explore valuable applications of LUMICKS technology, specifically the C-Trap™ system;
  • Execute plans and models that support business requirements and strategic selling initiatives including market segmentation and analysis, market-based analysis, key performance indicators;
  • Maintaining a high-level of technical and market expertise on the benefits and use of LUMICKS technologies;
  • Have in-depth technical discussions with potential customers with the objective to create a solution fit that provides the highest possible value to the customer’s research;
  • Develop and present at professional conferences, author articles for scientific journals and popular press;
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to plan and execute strategic sales projects;
  • Hire, lead, train, and develop a successful team of application scientists and business development personnel;
  • Maintain a high level of post-sales customer success through effective management of support collaborations and after sales application support;
  • Drive team culture and foster an environment for personal development and eagerness to perform.
  • Degree in Biology, Biophysics, Physics or related sciences;
  • 5+ years of experience in project management/ leadership skills to lead/manage multifunctional teams to evaluate target opportunities, and produce high quality analyses;
  • Extensive experience with biological applications of biophysical techniques such as optical tweezers or fluorescence microscopy, in particular with assay development;
  • Excellent, enthusiastic, advanced communication skills;
  • Travel requirement 35-50%;
  • Ability to drive projects to deliver timely results and follow through on commitments;
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate business strategies and capabilities internally and externally, and promote cross-functional communication;
  • Strong networking skills to reach out to a broad range of industry decision makers to keep abreast of emerging opportunities.
