Manager Internal Control & Compliance

Full-time position


Your objective is to set up and improve the financial processes and internal controls of LUMICKS. The role requires a control-focused professional with an accounting background and a basic understanding of IT systems. You will be responsible for driving COSO compliance programs for all business cycles and entities, which includes understanding the overall financial control environment, coordinating documentation, scoping and testing, identifying and evaluating deficiencies, as well as providing controls guidance for process and system changes. The position reports to the CFO and will coordinate extensively with outsourced internal audit service providers and all stakeholders within LUMICKS.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • Setting up, manage and driving Internal Control framework.
  • Manage and drive compliance of Internal Controls of Financial Reporting and COSO.
  • Perform annual planning of the Company’s Control compliance efforts (e.g., risk assessment, materiality, risk scoping, testing, etc.) including preparation of an audit manual and audit plan.
  • Proactively identify and monitor process and system changes that will have a direct impact on the Company’s financial statements and related disclosures. 
  • Conduct risk assessment of all departments. Report risk management issues and internal control deficiencies and provide recommendations for improving operations.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external auditors for the audit of the Company’s internal controls/ internal control framework. Ensure management letter comments and recommendations are implemented and all action items are resolved. 
  • Working closely with the finance team on topics to be defined down the road.
  • Working collaboratively with business and process owners to implement and monitor remediation efforts that result from internal control assessments, ensuring the effective implementation of corrective action. 
  • Advising/ helping the organization to be aware of the influences of COSO. Engage in continuous education and staff development. 

What about my skills & competencies?

  • Minimum 7+ years of public accounting experience or COSO Audit experience at a multi-national public company or firm, Big 4 preferred.
  • Experience (preferred but not required) with operational/internal audits.
  • Experience in writing internal policies and procedures and process evaluation and documentation.
  • Appropriate certification in accounting and/or auditing is strongly preferred (RA/ ACCA/ CPA).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, COSO, risk, and controls standards.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills are critical, as well as the ability to influence across various functions and levels.
  • Experience with a fast-changing and growing company.
  • Ability to switch between operational, tactical, and strategical levels.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Pro-active, self-starting, hands-on attitude.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
