Junior IT Support Engineer

Introduction

As our Junior IT Support Engineer at Amsterdam HQ you will be part of the IT solutions team that will provide first-line day-to-day support. You will be the first point of contact for end-users for provisioning and resolving a wide range of desktop and application related issues. What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • First point of contact for first-line day-to day, desk-side and remote IT support for end users.
  • Logs all calls into ServiceDesk, proactively, track & manage to resolution or escalate within team.
  • Respond to requests in a timely manner, providing a consistent professional high level of customer service for our colleagues.
  • Troubleshooting operating systems, Office, business applications and network issues, support all audio-visual troubleshooting, including conferencing room and other related equipment.
  • Provide warranty evaluation and repairs on company owned equipment and return to vendors
  • Provide workspace management, onboarding/offboarding, basic training, software installations, configuration, user account management and role provisioning.
  • Provides laptop/mobile device support, set up configuration and end user training.
  • Asset management, provisioning and configuring equipment such as hardware, laptops, printers, mobile devices, audio visual equipment, peripherals, and business applications.
  • Share and radiate knowledge to support the user community and update the intranet & knowledgebase
  • Work collaboratively, assist and support the IT team with daily activities, rolling out new projects and applications and company-wide projects.
  • Aid and cover for other team members, complete ad hoc requests with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Follow policies & procedures, ensure the security of the systems by understanding the risks and ensuring best practices.

What about my skills & competencies?

  • Keen to learn, develop new skills and enthusiastic about technology.
  • 1-2 years minimum hands-on work experience in an IT support role.
  • Ability to think critically, to troubleshoot hardware, networking, and application issues.
  • Work well both independently & as part of a team with a drive to maintain and provide an effective customer-focused service.
  • Strong prioritisation skills, proactive, adaptable, resilient, self-organizing with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong people skills, you are patient, a good listener, enjoy helping people and working in a varied fast pace and high-tech company.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills in English and able to communicate at all levels.
  • Keep up to date with information technology & have a security first focus.
  • Available 40 hours per week and flexibility as role may require occasional evening/weekend work.
