ICT Cloud Systems Engineer

As the Cloud Systems Engineer you are key member of the ICT Team. You will focus on cloud services but also support office networks. In this varied role you are responsible for supporting, configuring, implementing, enhancing, documenting and managing a multi-cloud and O/S landscape. You ensure that the company’s infrastructure, runs smoothly and securely. Working closely with internal & external users, you will provide reliable, cost-effective infrastructure services that fulfil the operational, technical & security requirements in alignment with the IT strategy and needs of the business. You have and maintain a strong technical knowledge of cloud services including PaaS, SaaS, on-premise networking equipment and general IT Support. This position reports to the IT Director.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • Ensure timely and efficient resolution of ServiceDesk requests & projects from beginning through to final resolution with prompt implementation of changes in line with policies through dialog and close collaboration with business people, including customer notifications, ensuring escalations are handled in a professional, consistent, and relentless manner;
  • Administer, configure, troubleshoot, monitor and maintain Azure AD, identity & privileged access management, SSO/MFA, auto-provisioning, Entra, verifying every identity & provide only secure access where necessary;
  • Manage AWS infrastructure including secure, reliable networking, compute, storage, NAS and other cloud services;
  • Implement and support networking including secure setup, connectivity and client troubleshooting of LAN, VPN, Wireless, Firewall, Domain & Certificate Services, updating & patching of network equipment and other local infrastructure such as PC’s, printers & video conferencing;
  • Provide and manage secure file sharing and collaboration tooling with Office 365, Teams, Exchange & SharePoint Online etc. Maintain, manage endpoint security tooling, Intune, MDM, ensuring all assets are secure and in compliance with agreed policies;
  • Continuously, proactive monitoring of all production networks, applications, services & enhance the security of current and future infrastructure;
  • Recommend, develop, plan, manage, implement, automate and fully document infrastructure, along with comprehensive knowledgebase and network maps;
  • Ensure documented backup and tested disaster recovery of infrastructure, applications and objects;
  • Strictly following standard procedures, and processes and keep all data confidential and protect company proprietary information;
  • Providing assistance and cover for other team members where required, share and distribute knowledge, information with other team members and throughout the company.

What about my skills & competencies?

  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in infrastructure/systems administrations role, with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS certification preferable;
  • Reliable, on-time, personable, and customer-focused. Experienced in creating productive relationships by working closely with stakeholders, technical staff, liaise with vendors, colleagues and contacts from others teams;
  • Excellent written & spoken English and Dutch. Effectively communication at all levels of the organization with ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience to ensure role & project success;
  • The ability to multi-task, work across a range of projects and issues with various timelines and priorities in a dynamic environment and complete additional duties as assigned;
  • Desirable to have experience with FortiGate and Aruba networking equipment;
  • Hands-on experience working with IT Hardware and Software including Networking; with strong knowledge in Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Office 365 and associated services, peripherals, scripting tools eg PowerShell, & application configurations;
  • Good knowledge of networking protocols, services, routing/subnetting, privileged access management, least privilege principles and zero trust model;
  • Self-organizing, passion and a desire to learn, with demonstrated success of scaling IT technology, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Critical thinking skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills to diagnose & resolve incidents and problems;
  • Implementing and strictly following change management procedures and systems to ensure the reliability of the network and applications to meet service level agreements;
  • Willingness to go above and beyond, including very occasional evening/weekend work.
