LUMICKS is looking for a Consolidation & Reporting accountant for our office in Amsterdam. You get the unique opportunity to be closely involved in the reporting process of a rapid growing international business. The Consolidation & Reporting Accountant works closely together with the Head of Reporting and Controlling and manages and supports in all aspects of consolidation accounting and financial reporting. The consolidation & reporting accountant is an important player in the European team, reporting to the Head of Reporting and Controlling. This person will assist in accounting activities occurring between the different business units in Amsterdam, China and US. To be successful you need to be technically strong, driven in delivering the best and most efficient results. You are innovative and can communicate complex accounting topics to all levels within the company.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closing consolidation, including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates and elimination of intercompany balances, and prepare appropriate financial statements
  • Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations
  • In charge of inter-company transactions and reconciliation
  • Coordinate with foreign entities’ accountants for timely financial reporting
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
  • Providing practical assistance in implementing accounting policies and treatment
  • Assist in creating and developing efficiencies within the consolidation process
  • Assist with other accounting fields to support the financial reporting and accounting team
  • Execute strategies for the completion of designated financial reports and accounting procedures
  • Support the development and implementation of the new ERP system
  • Exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate requiring good oral and written communication skills
  • Provide support for in time issuing the annual statutory financial statements and other financial reporting obligation for all these entities, including the external audit (assist in preparation of necessary audit schedules to support the financials and footnote disclosures)

What are my skills & competencies?

  • You have an RA/CPA or equivalent degree
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience with general ledger, consolidation, intercompany transfer pricing policy and financial reporting
  • A solid understanding of financial reporting and financial processes in an international environment
  • Assertive, team player and an international mindset
  • Ability to work independently and accurately under strict deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in English (required) and Dutch (nice-to-have)
  • Flexible and energetic person, hands on mentality
  • Enthusiasm and a professional attitude are also key to this position
  • A good general knowledge of MS Office is essential, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Exact Online or similar financial reporting package
  • You have knowledge of IFRS (required) and Dutch GAAP (nice-to-have)
