Application Scientist DSM R&D

Introduction

The DSM (dynamic single-molecule) team at LUMICKS is working on enabling new technologies and possibilities in single-molecule experiments. To achieve this goal we are developing new workflows and assays that require application-based experiments within the DSM R&D team. You will work with our workflow application development team to test new workflows & assays using a wide range of new and experimental microscopy technologies. You will work on state-of-the-art optical tweezers systems to provide data to validate these workflows for new product/technology releases in a wide range of fields in single-molecule analysis.

What are my tasks & responsibilities?

Design and execute experiments to generate high-quality data to validate user requirements.
Improve current, or develop novel applications and assays, pushing the limits of the C-Trap applications.
Write, present and report single-molecule data to the DSM R&D team and external stakeholders.
Create and update application protocols for our field application scientists and external customers.
Teaching and training new employees and field application scientists on workflows and protocols for LUMICKS’ Technology.

What about my skills & competencies?

An affinity for high-end technology.
A Masters in Biochemistry, Nanobiology, Biophysics or Applied Physics or similar discipline.
Comfortable with data analysis and programming in Python (or Matlab).
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent, enthusiastic, clear communication skills with a diverse audience are critical.
