z-Movi® is the only instrument that can directly measure the avidity, or overall strength of interaction between cells  (e.g., CAR-T and target tumor cells) or between cells and ligands (e.g., TCR-ligand interactions).

With the z-Movi Cell Avidity Analyzer, research scientists can now investigate functional interaction properties upon immune cell target-binding that correspond to immune cell response. The novel avidity-based screening principle

1. Immobilize your target tumor cells or ligands on the surface of the z-Movi chip and insert the solution containing your effector cells (e.g., CAR-T, NK cells etc.) of interest.

2. Screen your effector cells by applying an acoustic force ramp.

3. Low avidity cells require less force to be separated from their targets and will detach before high avidity cells.

4. Characterize each effector cell population fraction both absolutely and relatively to other populations by gradually increasing the force and measuring their interaction strengths over time.
