About this class
Do you have little to no experience with Bluelake automation scripting but want to start exploring this feature? Then this MasterClass is perfect for you. In this class, you will start by designing a script from absolute scratch in a highly dynamic and practical setting. After having covered all the basics, you will have the opportunity to draft and test your own application-specific script with the help from our in-house experts.
About your teachers
Loïc Chaubet completed his mechanical engineering degree at McGill University in Montréal in 2017. He then worked in a single-molecule lab during his bioengineering master’s exploring the cytoplasmic mechanical properties of the cell using optical tweezers. Prior and also during his academic years, he swam competitively and in parallel, coached swimmers from all levels and ages for over 10 years. His passion for teaching and affinity for science eventually brought him to LUMICKS where he joined in Sept. 2019 as an Application Scientist. He first spent an enormous amount of time with the C-Trap system, learning the ins and outs, performing demonstrations or conducting difficult and new experiments. His unique experience with the C-Trap and his educative approach then naturally steered him into a Customer Success Application Scientist position where he has had a pivotal role in supporting and training new and current customers for over two years.

Aafke van den Berg obtained her degree in Applied Physics at Delft University of Technology. She entered the field of Biophysics as a research assistant in the lab of Nynke Dekker, using magnetic tweezers. Excited by the fundamental questions that can be addressed using single-molecule techniques, she decided to do her PhD in the Depken lab. There she analyzed single-molecule fluorescence data on replication and modelled the interactions between nucleosomes and transcription. She then transitioned to a postdoc in the Mirny lab at MIT. There she combined computational modelling and data analysis to unravel the interactions between loop extrusion and transcription. Aafke is currently a Sr Customer Success Data Scientist in the LEC team and supports customers in data analysis.
